Looking to the Future

Our visit to Truman Middle School was energizing. Seeing the students equipped with devices and ready to learn made this initiative we are about to embrace a very exciting reality.

The belief that we are all learners, together, and we will improve our learning experience TOGETHER was the attitude that resonated throughout the building. Teachers were teaching students, students were teaching teachers and each other and the collaborative experience got them from point A to B even more quickly as they worked and shared with one another. While paper still had a place in the 1:1 learning environment, the majority of the classrooms were digital and because of this, the digital images of student learning could immediately be shared with not only the class on their own devices but with an audience around the globe; students were excited! This is truly one of the most exciting times in the past 17 years that I have taught in the Excelsior Springs school district.
